I've just returned from another amazing experience at DragonCon.

This was my third year exhibiting at the convention. Atlanta never fails to extend it's warmth and hospitality to the convention. Everyone from the local coffee shops like HodgePodge; restaurants like HomeGrown, Ria's Bluebird, and Flatiron, and the staff of the host hotels, welcomes the attendees and artists. It feels like a giant family reunion.

I would also like to express my appreciation for all of the volunteers. Their hard work and dedication make the show happen.

Can't wait to get back next year.

The BERZERKER exclusive art toy is on the loose!!!

For several months I have been developing my original design for and Art Toy.

The Berzerker is inspired by characters from the world of 8-BIT video games.

These menacing figures would chase your hero through a series of mazes. Attempting to surround him and blast him with their lazer vision.

My three-dimensional interpretation of these characters brings the simplified pixel graphics into the physical world.

This first exclusive series of twelve figures made their debut at DragonCon, in Atlanta.

Completely hand-sculpted, molded, cast and finished.

Each BERZERKER features a one of a kind, hand-painted colorway.

Limited Edition of 12 signed + numbered pieces.

Baby Grandpa -final sculpt

Here is the completed bust of Baby Grandpa, my primate character. After this photo he was promptly coated in a bath of silicone. Getting ready to mold and cast my army!

The name was inspired by a unique reference photo
(courtesy of artist friend Tom Taggart)
of a chimp who simultaneously looked juvenile and elderly.

Jordu Schell Creature Workshop at Spirit Gallery

I have just returned from an absolutely amazing workshop. The Spirit Gallery in New London, Connecticut was host to Hollywood creature creator Jordu Schell.

The week was filled with a lecture, demonstration, great stories and hands-on help by Mr. Schell. Each student created a full size character head which we then molded and cast in latex. We also created creature maquettes.

I met a lot of great artists who are also just great people.

The origin of Voltron?

I really enjoy sketching at the MET (The Metropolitan Museum of Art).

Had a great time working on this sketch of Hercules with a lion's hide for a cape.

At almost eight feet tall this sculpture is impressive, add that lion skin and he is seriously intimidating.
